Course Description

Prior to taking this course it is recommended you take part 1 of this series: SQL 2014 Developer P1: T-SQL and .NET Code.

We will begin this course by discussing aggregates, user defined types (UDT), tables and functions (TVF), and managing code modules. We will then go into data tools, including connected database development and updates.

Next, we will cover schemas and offline development with how to create new objects with TSQL, comparing database schemas, offline database development, and database project settings.

We will then move onto APPLY, MERGE, and grouping settings with additional instruction on how to create recursive queries. This will lead into ROLLUP, CUBE, pivot queries, and executing dynamic SQL.

Query execution will be next with an overview on how to use execution plans, execution plan operators, and common join operators. Hierarchy and columns will be further developed with hierarchyID data type, sparse columns, and column sets.

Additionally, you will learn about filtered indexes, FILESTREAM storage, and adding sequences to queries. We will conclude with spatial data types, spatial data in SQL server, manipulating spatial shapes, and interactions between objects.

Once you complete this course it is recommended to take part 3: SQL 2014 Developer P3: Partitions, Queries and XML.
