This course covers the functions and features of a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM - PMI) to prepare participants for their certification exam. The course will begin by discussing the process of preparing for the exam as well as its content and layout.

We will discuss the application and the exam this course focuses on. We will then go into organizations, including important concepts such as differentiation vs. integration and types of organizations. We will talk about basic project management terms and concepts, such as developmental methodologies, the big three life cycles, prototyping, WIP, scrum, and PMBOK.

We will then move on to integration management, project scope management, and project schedule management, including concepts like PDM, Project Evaluation & Review Technique (PERT), agile estimation, and the Critical Path Method (CPM).

We will discuss project cost management, covering topics such as budget, depreciation, forecasting, and earned schedule theory. Next, we will discuss project quality management, highlighting SIPOC, the logical data model, matrix diagrams, Test Driven Development (TDD), refactoring, affinity diagrams, pareto diagrams, and Design of Experiments (DOE).

You will then learn about project resources management, which touches on team development, emotional intelligence, leadership, management, and communication. From there we will discuss project risk management and types of risks, SWOT analysis, Expected Monetary Value (EMV), and decision tree analysis. Project procurement analysis discusses procurement types and negotiating tactics. Stakeholder management will show you the salience model and stakeholder engagement.

Lastly, we will cover professional responsibility with a final practice exam so you can apply what you have learned.
This course maps to the PMBOK 6th edition.
