There are unconfirmed reports that  http://mvps.org will be shutting down on Jan 28th after 20 years in existence.  Nothing on the site itself as yet though.

It's not clear at this time if this is true, or what the impact might be.

Yes, potentially.   But it's not clear what they are actually hosting vs what they are simply pointing to.

There was a single post on the MVP Facebook page:

https://www.facebook.com/MVPAwardProgram/posts/10154062553282844

which had a statement that sounded official, but there is nothing on the site itself, which seems odd.  I would think if they were closing at the end of Jan, they'd have something up by now.   Note that the facebook post was from Nov 10th.

That same statement was picked up and posted in the MVP Linked in group.   Don't know if they got it from the Facebook post or else where:

But if it is indeed true, then there's a lot of content there that might need to be saved.

Thanks Jim.

I have used Randy Birch's VBnet content many times, & learned a lot from it.

Update: I've been in contact with the site admins, and yes it is indeed shutting down :(

However, they will maintain a small/simple redirect site so people know what's going on.  Also, much of the content there is not hosted by themselves apparently.

Hi Jim, thanks for your update.
So it seems the websites will not shut down, just the mvps.org?

  Yes, that is my understanding.
