Summary:
"IPv4 addresses are running out and IPv6 is urgently needed to address the growing need for IP address expansion" .... well this was the strong message from the industry some 3 years ago. The transition across doesn't appear to be happening in any material way.   Every  device  connected  to the Internet needs an IP address. When the  Internet  was  designed,  with  over  4 billion unique addresses, no-one imagined that we'd ever run out of the 4 billion addresses it provided but now that we have, a new system for communicating over the Internet is needed. IPv6 is that new system and all hardware, software, computers, smart phone and ISPs will all need to support it.  This talk will provide an overview of the current state of IPv6 rollout, the barriers to adoption and what companies and individuals need to consider in planning for their own adoption and Internet future. "
