Prior to working within the Information Technology (IT) sector I worked in the Construction Industry as a survey / estimator for a number of contractors running projects up to a value of two million pounds; escaped the Construction Industry in the late eighties - whilst it was being ravished by the recession - and joined the Home Office as an Administrative Office (AO). I became involved in IT, whilst working there and was promoted to Executive Office (EO). Responsible for rolling out a number of software based systems; primary role was as a system administrator / 3rd line support (running team of 1st / 2nd line support staff across the UK).

Left Home Office in 1995 - having taught myself to programme - as a freelance developer working for software houses that sold into the corporate / blue chip environment. Grew frustrated at never getting to speak to the end user / client and decided to start Ayrmer Software in 2002, with the objective of providing a high calibre of service to small businesses that only corporates had previously enjoyed.

I still programme, although my primary role is to drive the business forward; sales and marketing and management of the business as Managing Director.

I love my job and enjoy giving the team the freedom to think outside the box, enabling them to push the boundaries and develop intuitive software solutions for our clients!
