I have been programming for a very long time. I've written code in the following (in no particular order):
o 8086 assembler
o Z80 assembler
o PHOCAL (P/hilips H/igh O/rder C/omputer A/ssembly L/anguage)
o CADOL II (for the Cado computer)
o Business BASIC (the "Mother Tongue")
o HTML, CSS
o VB6, VBA, VBScript
o XML and XSLT
I have used Oracle 8i, PL/SQL and SQL*Plus (the Oracle reporting tool) as well as SQL Server and T-SQL. I am not, however, a DBA, nor do I have plans for becoming one.
I read and write music; I do all of the cooking for my family; I bake sourdough bread and artisanal loaves; I eat habanero peppers; I am a voracious reader; I question authority at every turn; I am fiercely loyal; I am areligious; I am apolitical, tending towards anarchy; I can do anything, given the time; I grow basil, tomatoes and zucchini; I have most of my own teeth; I am in good health.
My taste in music is eclectic - Gamelan music from Bali; Gregorian chant; Jeff Beck; throat singing from the Steppes of Russia; Pat Metheny; Aerosmith - but my heart leans towards straight-ahead jazz: Bill Evans; Thelonious Monk; Dave Brubeck; MJQ. Lately I have been listening to 20th century piano music - Schoenberg, Scriabin, Hindemith - that sort of thing. Fascinating!
