I'm a system admin / programmer for a computer lab at UCLA.  I've been managing HP-UX systems for a few years now.  One of my main tasks at the moment is to transfer some of our existing platform-specific educational software into Java in order to make them more widely accessible.  I'm fairly new to Java at this point (late March '97), but I have a good handle on the more basic aspects and some of the quirks of the AWT.  I expect that I'll primarily be asking & answering in the Java area, since I plan to cruise it for tidbits regularly, but if I have time I'll pop into the Unix area as well.

August '98 update:  I'm primarily doing NT administration now; my old computer lab had a little over 100 NT machines added about a year ago and trying to whip them into shape is most of what I do now.
