First home computer was an Apple ][ (1979) first professional computer was a Univac 1140 - big as a basketball court, hottern a steam locomotive, a 36-bit, screaming 3 Megaword supercomputer with over 400 megabytes of harddrive.
My second professional computer was an analog weapons fire control computer for the  F4D Phantom II - not a lot of programming involved there.
I have read some books on programming.  
Still have not found my favorite OS or development toolset.
For me, staying in touch with reality sometimes involves roaming charges.
