Full Biography

I started in the IT business as a trainee programmer back in 1979 and learned COBOL and IBM Assembler. After having worked in application programming for about seven years I switched to systems programming on all three major IBM operating systems, VSE, MVS and VM. Having seen that I went back into the application programming realm to assist programming teams in the area of unified programming and test-environments. From there on I developed to team leader and technical project leader to what I am today, a project manager that can´t be fooled.

At home, I still like to fumble around with rechnical stuff. Unix like systems are the main area of interest these days. I´ve had all kinds of flavors, from Coherent Unix, RedHat (3.03,  4.0,  5.1,  5.2,  6.0,  7,  9,  FC1,  FC2), Suse (5.2,  8.0,  9.0, 9.2 and 9.3),  Slackware (3.1,  3.5.0),  Gentoo. Ofcourse, my Ipaq also ran Linux.

Apart from all this, a few of the machines in my home network also run Windows XP Professional. One often has got to connect to the Windows based business community... alas, but so be it.

In both areas, Linux as well as Windows, I'm very strict in having only legal software on my systems. So I pay for it, OR it's freeware.

I'm busy with the basics of perl, php and MySQL now, to set up a good modular application for the administration of the baptist church I attend.
