Full Biography

I go to Ajax High School in Ontario. My grades are mostly good, I got the highest grade ever seen in my school in the grade 10 computer information science class learning VB (99 on the report, but I hear it was 99.9). But for grade 11 there were some complications and I was unfairly given an 80. I have never run into a programming problem that I could not resolve. So if anyone needs any help with anything, I may be able to help you out. Unfortunately, I do not have the experience of most university students that are into the programming trade, but I am still extremely skilled - researching my problems and resolving them with working solutions. Here is what I know when it comes to programming languages:

Macromedia Flash Action script: this was my first programming experience. I originally used it to program simple play/stop actions in a shareware version of Flash. I soon realized that it was useful to create useless games. So I made a bunch of useless games, each time gaining a tiny bit of knowledge. Then I bought a fairly complex book (complex for a 12-year-old) book. I was too young then to comprehend the book, so I only finished half. I'm not into flash as much now because I am more of a programmer than a web designer, so I still have not finished the book and don't plan to! But I still use flash to build programs and various web application if I need to. I also run a Flash MX club for grade 7s in an elementry school, passing on the torch.

HTML: This is more of a design language. Who doesn't know HTML? I learned it to make games one summer at my grandma's house by reading a short but VERY informative and easy to use children’s book. I also have anothe book on HTML style sheets (which I don't understand).

JavaScript: My HTML games needed some life, so I began to look into JavaScript. I used to make all kinds of useless practice mater. There are still a lot of things I don't know about this, even though I have Javascript for Dummies. I have only read half of it because like my issue with flash, I am not too interested in web design.

QB: I first learned this when my mom bought me a short QB book, even though I did not even have a compiler. So I downloaded for free what I call a "garbage" compiler, because of all this primitive linking and such that more complicated than it needs to be. For years, I did not understand the function of a compiler and linker. Not until I read my C book: Chapter 1. So I read half the book and got tired of it because I hate this language. Although I did make some nice music programs.

VB: This is my favourite language. It is easy to use, and I can write almost any program that pops into my head. And I have written many useful applications such a smart loan and interest calculator, a huge multiplayer pong game, and even a virus that I can activate to protect my computer. As time goes by I am always expanding my knowledge on VB and making all kinds of neat things. My next big project is an MMORPG.

C: I had this book for a while, but I've just started reading it this summer. It's done now, but I don't really like C because it is hard to keep track of header files and it doesn't really do anything for me. I tried to make a game with it as my first program, but C is too primitive for that type of thing. It is more of the robot-programming language than the user-interface language. Never the less, I will still have to learn it and use it. Maybe one day I might find it useful for something.
