I am self-taught in VBA for MS Word and MS Excel in order to extend my usefulness in these areas and to be able to create better user-friendly applications to use for business and personal use, and I have approximately 1 year of experience with VBA.  

        I am currently teaching myself VB.Net, because VBA is bound solely to MS Office Applications, and VB.Net allows me to create stand alone applications that provide more functionality.  I have been learning VB.Net on Visual Studio 2005 since June 2007, and it is my first time using both VB (outside of VBA), and Visual Studio.  I know a few tricks now, but my knowledgebase regarding VB.Net is somewhat limited.  The computer I use for my programming uses Windows XP as it's OS, and operates on an intranet server (I am not a system administrator, but have admin access to my personal workstation).
