Full Biography

I was appointed IT Administrator in 1999, and currently performs the role of Information Systems and Network Administrator, and IT Manager.  I have gained a very good working knowledge of Workstation (Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7) and Server (2000, 2003) Operating Systems.   I am a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and Administrator.  The main functions of my role as IT Administrator and Manager include:

-      Configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting all network functions and applications
-      Troubleshooting, installing and updating desktop PC hardware, software, printers, scanners, phones and other peripherals.
-      Project Management of the implementation of all new server systems required internally for the company‚Äôs activities.
-      Management of the regular backup of the IT system and data retrieval.
-      Firewall administration, anti-virus updates, anti spam and overall IT security.
-      Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions and access rights.
-      Provide telephone and desktop support to internal and external users and provide training where necessary.
-      Strategic planning (medium and long term) based on company objectives to keep in line with new developments in IT.   Forecasting any needed improvements, budgeting for and implementing any changes.
-      Development and management of the annual IT Budget.
-      Manage all network hardware and equipment including routers, switches and hubs.
-      Management of Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange (2000, 2003)
-      Ensure network connectivity of all workstations
-      Mobile users; configuration of smart phone and laptop connections to the network and security of same.
-      Management of IT hardware, software and maintenance procurement
-      Develop and maintain a disaster recovery plan and IT security policy
