30 Years working with computers... started in HS programming Basic, Fortran and S/370Assembler (MUSIC, IBM OS/VS1)
In 1982-86 played with Turbo Pascal/Turbo C on Intel, while working fulltime in S/370Assembler shop
In 1987 changed jobs to "better" company, doing less programming, and more systems administration (IBM mainframes - VM/HPO, MVS/SP)
In 1989ish - changed positions in company to lead Unix team using IBM's PC/RT running AIX V2
and received the first RS/6000s in So. California, still running AIX V3 Beta.
In 1993 - Position change back to Mainframe Support (VM/HPO, MVS/ESA)
In 1998 - Position change back to Midrange Support (AS/400, Unix (HPUX AIX))
I've been through many OS upgrades OS/400 V4-V5 (currently we're on V5.4, on 9117-MMA 2 lpars)
On Unix side, we're running V5.2->V6.1 of aix, on P630 P570 with VIO and micropartitioning. (130 lpars)
We've chosen to get away from HPUX, although we still have 2 boxes running 11.11
