Responsible for architectural vision of monitoring solution across ~10k devices in a Fortune 19 company. Drove the transition from Tivoli to SolarWinds, resulting in $1million reduction in year 1, and $700k every year thereafter, while increasing monitoring from 6k devices to ~10k devices.
Created courseware and delivered training to ESM team and colleagues in other departments on new tools and techniques. Developed business and technical plans to move from single solution, tool-centric philosophy to a heterogeneous toolset, multi-technique service-oriented vision for monitoring solutions. 25 years in the computer industry, from classroom instructor to desktop support, server support and finally to the enterprise systems management & design activities that I perform today.

That progression of tasks was mirrored by a progression in responsibility, The largest environment I worked in was 250,000 systems in 5,000 locations worldwide.

My goals are to continue to increase my IT knowledge and responsibility, building on my solid understanding of servers, operating systems and applications and branching out into data and voice networking infrastructure and applications.

Specialties: Monitoring and management solutions design; PC standardization projects; creating automated solutions for maintaining systems; rapid acquisition and then disseminating of knowledge; fostering and maintaining strong communication within a group and up to management; Regardless of the task or project, I maintain a strong focus on documentation, process standardization, and cross-training.
