NETWORK AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

Design, engineer and manage the data network for the district. This includes working
with outside engineers to assist in planning and installation of new services.
Design, engineer and manage phone systems, including voice mail and faxing for all
district users. Design, engineer and manage wireless phone systems, including data services and
calling plans.
Managing both phone and data networks for patch management, upgrades, planning for
replacement of equipment and monitoring of the major pieces of equipment, i.e.,
servers, switches, etc.
Implements LAN/WAN policies, procedures and standards, ensuring conformance with district objectives as directed.
Provides specific design criteria or drawings for vendor or contractor use, assuring that vendors have all specific installation and performance requirements; analyzes documentation and records of systems and equipment; determines needs and requests equipment and equipment transfers; provides technical information to vendor technicians.
Manage and monitor all communications invoices from all vendors for cost effectiveness and accuracy. Evaluate ways to lower communication and network fixed costs, by research and
recommending new, proven and more cost effective technologies. Assist in the installation and servicing of all physical security related equipment for any district location including IP security cameras, digital recording servers, and access control devices. Once installed, monitor and maintain the systems as necessary.
Works with the outside vendors (telecommunications, phone equipment, wireless carriers to insure that all contracted services are maintained on an adequate level for the district’s needs. Maintain the district’s phone lists for automated calling system, teacher password lists for the student information system (SIS), and parents’ password lists for SIS portal.
