Professional Background
Sage 50 Consultant and Integrator
Making I.T. Happen
April 1999 – Present
I look after people, help them master finance and technology to get more out of the systems they have and improve the systems they have. Integrating systems with Sage 50 is a growing part of this.

Systems are there to help people do what they want, be that sell more, earn more, work more, or relax more.  Unless a system delivers against its goals it is a bad system.  Good systems based on old technology should not be replaced by bad systems based on new technology. Where systems don't work, they need to be fixed. Where systems work, perhaps they should be left alone.

I have a wonderful varied job, I enjoy it hugely, I get an immense satisfaction from helping others.

Full Biography

I work for Making I.T. Happen a specialist consultancy for Sage 50.

Background in IT :- Programming, Databases on PR1ME mainframes, Billing applications,Remote Data Capture.

In  Depth knowledge of :- Windows Desktops, Windows Servers,Linux Servers

Key Skills :- Accounting, MS Excel, MS Access, VBA, Sage 50 Integration

Business :- Owner-Manager of several businesses.

Accounts :- Own needs in business and did five years in an accounting practice preparing extracting reporting information from clients systems and preparing management accounts.

I have a strong computing, business and accounting background.  I have a small business that provides for my financial needs at the same time as providing me with the time I want to enjoy my life.

The nature of the Internet and remote desktop access means I am no longer bound to a small geographical area but can travel in an instant and at no cost to any desktop on the internet.

The work I do is very varied, simple help with Line 50, showing people how to do things, writing reports, creating linked spreadsheets, complex integrations of all sorts of vertical market systems and e-commerce sites to Sage 50, preparation of data, setting up new systems.

I enjoy enabling and empowering others, of course, once they know how to do things you might think this leads to declining client needs, however, clients seem to always want to do more and they keep telling others so I have plenty of work.
