I just want to makesure that I understand your dilemma correctly...

You need to read in a column delimited text file and then update the appropriate access tables with the information from the text file.   Just write a parsing routine that reads in a line from the file, looks for the occurance of the delimiter character, and then writes it out to the appropriate field in the database.  Then start from the position following the delimiter you just found and look for the next delimiter and do the same thing.  Do this until the end of the flat file.  Am I anywhere close to what you are looking for?  Let me know.  Parsing files really bites
