I've been playing around with databases since the days of dbase II, and there's just something about them that really appeals to me. Most of my experience has been with Access, though I've dabbled a bit with MySQL and PostgreSQL - I've never scaled the lofty heights of Oracle and DB2. After many years of confining myself to Access's QBE grid, I finally got to grips with the SQL language, and I'm still quite fascinated by it!
I also do the occasional website, and have a particular interest in accessibility issues.

Interests and Hobbies

I'm a member of BrumLETS (Birmingham's Local Exchange and Trading Scheme), and of FAB, which promotes Fairtrade in Birmingham. I love music (ranging from Purcell to punk) and have recently taken up playing the accordion. Dancing is another favourite pastime - I'm currently doing circle dance and folk dance. I like crosswords and bad puns, and I'm trying to learn Portuguese. I can sometimes be found skulking around in the browser-based game Tribal Wars.
