1981, I graduated with 2:1 honours in pure and applied mathematics and went on to do a post graduate in real-time computing (software engineering) - before PCs existed. I spent 3 years in radar and real-time defense software design before moving to Reuters in London where I stayed for 21 years. There I took part in design and programming real-time computers for the financial sector developing bespoke networked systems in the late 80's to delivering real time updates over the telephone wires (before the internet) and then over the internet in the 90's and 00's.
I now run a small website development in Buckinghamshire. and help run our equestrian centre (www.deepmill.com)
I've worked on micros using bespoke real-time multi-tasking operating systems, to MS-DOS to Windows to OS/2 to windows NT to XP to W7
