My history in computers dates back 9 years, but only in certain fields.

While I do have a history in certain programming languages (HTML, Flash MX, Visual Basic, etc.) and the standard Microsoft Office applications, and the USAGE and functionality of the internet, I would not consider myself a guru in my current project. I am tasked with creating network programming utilizing the new .NET 2.0 Framework (specifically C#, ASP.NET, and ADO.NET all version 2.0). As previously stated, I am both a novice in these areas (my mistake for not taking advantage of MSDN)

Please, if/when you choose to answer my questions include any details that may help me understand conceptually as well as practically, as it will help me in the future.
