An IT professional for 30 years (applications, systems, operations, some networking, and information security).  I previously used DCL in a digital (VAX) environment, then moved to Unix.  I now have access to neither system and am attempting to use the Windows command line (Windows 7 professional) to perform laborious manual tasks.  This transition is MUCH more difficult than I anticipated and I am seeking the assistance of persons with a more reasonable learning curve and a much greater skill set in this regard.
