IT and Systems Manager
The Children's Theatre Company
January 2014 – Present
I am the one person IT department for the Children's Theatre Company. Being both the visionary for future situations and the desktop support person. An average day includes user maintenance in Active Directory, desktop help with Office or Tessitura questions, data manipulation in SQL database, planning the implementation of Azure or VoIP systems, and working on vendor relationships.
The position started with putting out fires, updating physical systems, creating network stability, and lowering over all costs, servers were regularly down, and backups in disarray. Diligent work and documenting of systems have brought the infrastructure to a solid, functioning foundation.
Current projects include migration to a hosted PBX VoIP solution to improve both customer interactions and lower total cost of ownership, by creating a maintainable system. Centralizing the network backbone to a software defined network solution. Again, lowering costs and allowing one person to maintain a professional environment.
