November 2012 – Present
Lead for the CA.Mail team. I designed, built, and administered Exchange 2010 servers for over 90,000 active mailboxes. The environment consisted of an Exchange resource forest with six distributed access groups (dag) or clusters. We developed processes for business continuity, including backups, recovery plan and highly available hosts nodes in another, remote state data center. All work was documented and completed using itil change processes.
As of 2016, the State has decided to fully use Microsoft's O365 for email, so we've been actively migrating all of our on-premise users to O365 tenants. To support this system I took classes in O365 administration, and ADFS administration. I developed scripts to extract configuration data from our Exchange resource forest and populate the authentication active directory properties. In addition, I developed scripts to pull mailbox permissions, resource calendar configurations, public folder structure and permissions and distribution list exports which identifef non - State recipients. These scripts became part of an identity package for each of our customers so they could easily duplicate the process.
This month, I was awarded the State's Superior Service award for my efforts involved in this migration.
