Deeply involved with computer engineering and usage since 1961. My first computer experience was writing graphics programs on an IBM 709 in assembler code. First hardware project (as an undergrad) was a group effort to develop a 16 bit minicomputer, 15 years before the PDP-11, Nova, etc hit the market.

Have written Fortran, COBOL, ALGOL, Pascal, C, DCL, Perl, various assemblers over the years.
