More bioIMy interest in computers started between my juior and senior years of high school, when I was selelcted to attend a summer program in mathematics at college; my porject was to learn FORTRAN and then write a nxn matrix inversion algorithm. As a college student, I worked first in the physics department, then in the computer center and finally as a programmer for a petrochemical company. After graduation, i continued my IT career as a consultant, working for the United Nations, Citibank, and numerous large and mid-sized companies. Shifting from being a developer to a manager and then to senior executive roles, I neverthelss kept deeply involved in technology.
I gained expertise in a number of business domains including manufacturing, finance, retail banking, transportation, wholesale and warehousing, healthcare and more. More recently, I have focused on small to medium-sized businesses (SMB) who need the resouces and talent of much larger organizations but generally do not have the capacity to have them as full time resurces, epecially when such companies have few employees. As often as not, they don't realize what they need in IT capabilities, so guiding them to great but appropriate solutions is quite satisfying.
My hobbies include wookworking, cooking, reading and travel. I also am a National Board Member for the LSU Foundation and serve on the Dean's Advisory Council for the LSU College of Business. Working with students as an entreprenurial mentor and with faculty and staff has been especially rewarding.
