Started working with mainframes in 1977 as programmer; moved to PCs in 1979 (cpm 8086); work in hardware repair, software development (COBOL, BASIC, PASCAL) and debugging. Work extensively in Windows environment; have thorough understanding of DOS. No knowledge of Macs, however. Write a weekly computer column, answering questions from readers on broad variety of computer-related issues.
