I am mostly self taught and have a technical diploma. I started my work career in 1961 in light electrical engineering. In 1973 I was manufacturing electrical control panels for large base metal concerns and the advent of the Intel microprocessor drove me into the manufacture of home-built systems which today are known as PLC's. In my time I have built automation systems using self-designed OS's and the advent of O/S2 finally supplied a platform that would allow me to do SCADA, Mass Measuring etc without having to do everything myself. Hardware in that time was mostly DEC PDP and IBM mainframe systems.
