Games seem like a good testing ground for AI research because Google's team is going to use Starcraft for their platform.

Daang.  That's cool!  I played tons of StarCraft.  The AI in that game was pretty good but easily defeatable 1v1 AI, but 1 v2AI became difficult, especially if the maps were huge because the AI often knew to spread around the map to keep gathering resources for their main base.

StarCraft was an awesome game.. I wonder if the original battle net is functional yet

2 years ago it (SC1 Battle.net) was still teeming with activity (probably due to the release of SC2).  Every now and then a few friends and I are nostalgic enough to play again haha

for the original? I find that almost hard to believe now.. I used to have a crap load of the maps. I wonder if I saved them along with the game CD. I should rip the CD on for a virtual drive so I can play without it and try to boot an old PC for the game maps..


never did play SC2 :/ it was laggy on my laptop of the time, though my current one should be fine, I wonder what I'd have to pay for a copy now a days

I played the full campaigns of SC2.  It was satisfying to finally get the ending of the story.  I thought it was worth it.

You should still have the maps if you haven't wiped your OS or saved the map files on a USB thumb drive haha
