Looks like a pretty basic chromebook to me - whats the special appeal? I bought a chromebook for around that price that is resonable for surfing but lags quite a bit (at random points) which is pretty annoying.

$89 is pretty cool. Plus I like that it appears to be linux and not Android.

Yeah, thats pretty cool. I had a few friends who got cheapy chromebooks and installed crouton on them to get the full linux environment and they ended up being pretty Janky. Looking at some reviews online seem to indicate that its a solid media streaming device for the price.

I thought about getting one back when they announced it. I decided to wait for reviews mainly because I was unsure how good (or bad) the screen and keyboard might be. That and other options are getting ridiculously cheap.

According to its spec, PINEBOOK is similar to a Raspberry Pi 3 and it may be the reason why it can be made so cheaply.
