As you might know: Win11 is here and it's a free upgrade for licensed windows 10 users.
It has compatibility requirements beyond what used to be normal for new Windows OS' and will not install on machines with AMD or Intel processors older than 2018.

There are various "fixes" to allow setup on older machines, but I would not recommend those unless you fully understand what running it on an unsupported processor means. Does it mean you may not use features you are hoping to get or does it mean standard day2day processes will run slower or even faulty? Please inform yourself before considering these "fixes". Unfortunately, I have not come across a complete explanation myself. If someone has a document on "why not install win11 on my CPU", please add it here.

Still no clear words on what would not work.
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/installing-windows-11-on-devices-that-don-t-meet-minimum-system-requirements-0b2dc4a2-5933-4ad4-9c09-ef0a331518f1 says at least

Your device might malfunction due to these compatibility or other issues...
If you proceed with installing Windows 11, your PC will no longer be supported and won't be entitled to receive updates. Damages to your PC due to lack of compatibility aren't covered under the manufacturer warranty.

That's a grave warning!
So although the october updates arrived on my machines (that were both not compatible), I am not optimistic and will save the current state to a system image that allows me to revert to windows 10 one day.
