For a tech site with a lot of techs it surprises me just how many people don't understand how to take a screenshot or post one!  Frustrated one too many times, I wrote this - and I'm looking for the best area to put it. EE - any suggestions?

Agreed! Thanks for doing that :-)

The first topics that came to my mind would be Office/Productivity, Images and Photos, and since the article was very focused on ways to do it in Windows, Windows OS.

Thanks Brian, I put it in those areas and discovered "Experts-Exchange" was an area I could use as well!

Something I wonder about though, is if the main barrier isn't lack of understanding how to do it, but is more due to the number of steps being involved. Trying to write a description can often feel a lot faster than the steps of: set up the screen to avoid showing anything private, take the screenshot, save it, find they way to embed the image, find where the image was saved, etc...

Certainly though, a lot of times it can be faster to do all those steps than the potential confusion of written words! I'm glad your article covered some of the benefits to doing this :-)

The snipping tool makes screen shots VERY easy.  And if EE can incorporate the ability to paste them direct from the browser into a question or comment on a question, that would be FANTASTIC - I was pleasantly surprised to see I could when writing the article.  Indeed, I would have made the article more a post if I could have used the same type of formatting here.

And annoying as I can be, I will teach others whether they like it or not - by posting a link to my article whenever someone does something in a less than ideal way.  I'd like to think if they can get past any sense of insult that I think they don't know how to take a screen shot, they'll learn something and make things that much better/easier in the future.

Does not surprise me at ALL!

It always makes me chuckle when Word documents and PDFs are uploaded!

Maybe they don't know there is now something called snipper in Windows 10
