Do you like to "mine" and you've already got a couple of coins? Are you a fan of gambling? If yes, then this is all for you, my friend. Recently I have discovered for myself online casinos in a different light. It turns out you can play blackjack with BTC. It is one of the most popular games that are both on the phone and on the computer that makes it easy to play. Trustworthy sites would never swindle a player’s winnings. Although they might charge a larger service fee than other game providers, but at least you will have the peace of mind knowing that your money is safe and when you win, your rewards would be aptly paid to you.

Have you been following the ransomware attack against Atlanta? They were threatened with a bitcoin ransom, due yesterday. As of this morning, city courts were shut down and residents have been unable to pay their bills.

In an NPR report, there was a previous audit of Atlanta's IT department and they were warned this could happen.

What can we learn from this?

Consider the following:

The first case was brought in 2010, adjudicated in favor of Google in 2012, then reversed on appeal in favor of Oracle in 2014.
In 2016 a jury determined Google's actions were shielded by fair use which, again, was overturned on appeal in Oracle's favor two years later.

What I see is a court system of tech illiterate lawyers arguing the merits (or lack thereof) of software & open-source copyright/patent law to tech illiterate judges and juries unaware of the extent and ramifications of their rulings. This will likely continue, the back & forth, for another 8 years or until SCOTUS decides to take up copyright and patent cases of this kind. We can only hope we address the application of laws used to protect the invention of the cotton gin being applied to software.

FYI if you post to Twitter
Starting tomorrow, Twitter will no longer allow you to post the same message to multiple accounts simultaneously. Twitter developers explained on their blog this change is to ensure Twitter is free from spam. This change may be due in part to all the issues Facebook has been seeing with spam and "fake news". Will this help Twitter or should this have just been in place all along?

This change may be due in part to all the issues Facebook has been seeing with spam and "fake news".

Twitter's fake news issue is much larger than Facebook's, thanks to the anonymous nature of their platform.

Twitter is just now giving some transparency to users, by publishing guidelines for how-to not get your account purged as a bot. Last month they purged a ton of bots and a lot of 'real' accounts were caught in the cross-fire:
https://www.theverge.com/2018/2/21/17032798/twitter-russian-bot-purge-conservative-complaint

These mass bot purges are becoming commonplace:
https://www.rawstory.com/2017/08/twitter-suspends-army-of-fake-accounts-after-trump-thanks-propaganda-bot-for-supporting-him/

Twitter is plagued with bots. Apparently a common thing bots do is post the same thing over and over. Now if you are programming a bot, you know not to do that.

Hello. For 20 years I've been involved in IT as a school network manager, dealing with hardware, networks etc., but I've now taken early retirement and have been asked by my local church if I would help them with their IT. Needless to say, I said Yes, and the first thing they asked was how their website could be upgraded, improved, whatever.

I know how websites work, but I've never built one (the school had an IT teacher who was a web designer before becoming a teacher, so he could build websites while I hosted them), so I'm now diving into the deep end and would really appreciate any information about how to build websites keeping things simple.

I have Dreamweaver on my computer, but it's a commercially orientated package and I'm not ready to go that deep into website building,  so what options are there for me?

Thanks in advance for any support provided.

Phio.
