Cheap smart watch brand LIGE. It do have all sophisticated functions and it is what you can rely on.  For student, it is a good choice, believe me.

A very good training to understand the OpenAI services provided by Microsoft Azure.

VMware vSphere ESXi breaches - Malware attacks - Feb 2023

THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT to all VMware vSphere ESXi Admins !

I was going to write and article, or do a video, but I wanted to get this out ASAP to the community! This can be avoided!

There has been much press lately about VMware vSphere ESXi breaches, so I'm going to post the following, after some careful evaluations of some client systems which have been compromised. They were compromised because of the following

1. ESXi servers directly connected to the internet.
2. vCenter Server directly connected to the internet.
3. Unpatched builds of ESXi 6.5, 6.7 and 7.0.
4. Unsupported End of Life builds namely ESXi 6.5 and 6.7.
5. SSH/Shell access left enabled with poor passwords.
6. No ESXi firewall enabled.
7. ESXI servers not in Strict Lock down mode.
8. OpenSLP service enabled on non-patched, or end of life ESXI Builds.

https://www.securityweek.com/many-vmware-esxi-servers-targeted-in-ransomware-attack-via-old-vulnerability/

https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/massive-esxiargs-ransomware-attack-targets-vmware-esxi-servers-worldwide/

https://xakep.ru/2023/02/06/esxiargs/

A previously "undocumented" Python backdoor targeting VMware ESXi servers is now in the wild and being exploited, this is likely compromised under CVE-2019-5544 and CVE-2020-3992 vulnerabilities in ESXi's OpenSLP service.

If you disable OpenSLP service, then you "maybe"

Contribution improves the knowledge.
I have contributed to EE and the more I contribute the more I learn regardless of what expertise it is.

This year was exciting and expecting a new AWS Certifications next year

This year I have learned so much in a few areas. My M365 admin skills have grown tremendously, I'm slowly learning automation with PowerShell, technical designs for call centers, and upping my Excel coding!
1
I improved my skills in Laravel, Forge, Research and Development. I always feel happy to share my knowledge with community members and solved their problems. My motto for this year is to get AWS certification.
0
Started writing some articles and will be focusing on writing more articles in 2023!!
3
Will learn Azure and AWS in 2023 for my technical goals

I will be planning for AZ104 certification in 2023

So as I'm sure that you know, I've now produced over 35 tutorial videos for Experts Exchange on VMware vSphere 7.0 and 18 tutorial videos on VMware vSphere 8.0 which released in October 2022.

You can find the lists here

https://github.com/CodheadClub/AwesomeResources/blob/master/Virtualisation.md#andrewhancock

So I've learnt two skills in 2022, although really I'm always learning new skills, the first skill is using GitHub correctly and successfully using Markup language, submitting PR and tracking issues.

The second skill for 2022, I used to use Adobe Premiere Pro/Sony VEGA for video production, but we've switched now to Blackmagic Designs Davinci Resolve (FREE version available), it's been in at the deep end with this, and learning a new video editting suite for 2022, to help produce new tutorials for 2023.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

A short time ago, one of those 'Fake' Your-computer-has-a-Virus type pop-ups happened, and I pressed <Ctrl>+<Alt>+<Del>, ended the Microsoft Edge task and Restarted the laptop.

Fast-forward a week or so, during which time everything "appears" to be working correctly on the laptop, and I noticed the following entry in the "ipconfig" readout:

Ethernet adapter Ethernet:

   Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected
   Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : D3-WDS12.COM

Why is an Ethernet adapter showing on the laptop when it exclusively uses Wi-Fi?

Using some troubleshooting skills of my own, I immediately suspected something "fishy" might be happening, so I downloaded and ran Malwarebytes (which turned out all Clear) and a Rootkit detector tool (TDSSKiller, which also turned out Clear).  One small detail appeared at the bottom of the TDSSKiller .LOG file like this, which caught my eye:

AV detected via SS2: Windows Defender, windowsdefender:// ( ), 0x60100 ( disabled : updated )

Does this actually mean Windows 10 Defender is "Disabled", if so, why or how?  It is Enabled by default, correct? This laptop is relatively young (low mileage) and should be in its original Factory state except for a few "normal" Microsoft Updates.

I used the "Windows 10 Network Issues" article steps in this Forum and performed each of the "Method 3" steps one by one, checking "ipconfig" after each step, and each Restart, to see if the "mystery" (D3-WDS12.com) entry from Ethernet had been removed yet.  Nothing changed at all, the entry remained.

Side Note:  A Networking 'Profile' was found using "regedit" that contained the "D3-WDS12.com" entry and THIS worried me.

I am getting the end of the year lack of motivation and am in need of a ski trip.  So I asked AI to come up with a song called losing my motivation sung to the toon of losing my religion and also asked for some album art . Here it is:

JasperArt_2022-12-21_08.55.06_upscal.png
Verse 1:
I was walking the line, aiming for my goals,
Branching out and taking all kinds of roles.
But I found myself losing, I had no zest,
My motivation seemed to go away from me like a thief in the night.
Chorus:
Oh no, I'm loosing my motivation, can't find what I need.
It's like a waning flame that's burning low and fast.
Oh no, I'm loosing my motivation, don't know what to do.
Can't find the spark that will light up my destiny.
Verse 2:
Thought I'd take this challenge but things aren't working out,
Needed ambition but it wasn't showing up, yeah.
I'm feeling stalled out and don't know where to go next,
Gonna try and get back on track with a real hard reset.
Chorus 2:
Oh no, I'm loosing my motivation, can't find what I need.
It's like a waning flame that's burning low and fast.
( repeat )
Bridge:
You gotta keep on pushing though you're tired and sore,
'Cause finding motivation isn't easy anymore.
Chorus 3:
Oh no ,I'm loosing my motivation , can’t find what I need .
(repeat)

Thank you E-E community, I've learnt many things from the https://www.experts-exchange.com/videos/ page.
Very informative and well-curated.

This year I've learned quite a bit about the new WordPress block editor, including some custom block types included with the premium version of the GeneratePress theme. The "Container" block included with that theme has been enormously valuable in providing flexibility for customising element styles.

I improved my skills related to the tech stack I had this year. Involved in some project discussions and developed a PWA application. I also shared the knowledge to the fellow community members and solved their problems. It is a great pleasure to give solutions to the members when needed. Keep rocking EE
