MacPPP MacTCP
I have been using MacPPP/MacTcp along with Netscape 3.0 on a Quadra 605
to navigate the net through a local ISP, for over a year with no
problems.
Suddenly, I am unable to get past the PPP/Establishment phase to complete the connection into the ISP, which will then open Netscape. After double clicking on the netscape Icon, Netscape reads all of its Prefs files and then the MacPPP status: window opens. Next the following
text appears in sequence.
MacPPP status:
Dialing Modem (Modem dials & connection is opened)
Waiting For Text:
Log-In (No Problem)
Password (No Problem)
PPP Phase: Establishment (Programs hangs at this point, modem times out & disconnects before completing the connection)
I have checked all the MacPPP & MacTCP settings with the ISP, rebuilt the desktop, ran disk doctor, and did a clean install of both the MacPPP & MacTCP, without any luck!
