Ethernet on Centris 610

I have a Centris 610 and I hooked up the AAUI connection
to a hub with other macs on it.  I could not get the
Centris to connect.  The green light would not even come
on.  After looking further, I found that the 610 came with
an optional onboard ehternet.  Do I have to install
a nubus ehternet card to get it to work?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The green light does not come on indicates that
the protocol (MacTcp,LocalTalk,...) is not on.
The reason comes from physical or logical, or
both. You should have a ethernet card on which
the protocol can run.
