i was trying to install the the ide drivers(triones bus
master atapi driver ver 3.22) wich came with my new motherboard, a gigabyte
ga-586hx ,but when i do this the system can not read the cd (except in dos),
and goes into slow motion , (this is very annoying as i had to reinstall w95 to rid the system of the new driver) is the system trying to read the cd as a hard
drive ?    presumably  the new driver will give better performance than  the
driver that w95  installs. any suggestions

forget the new driver and stick with what 95 sets up. Ive seen a lot of these types of drivers and the MS boys do a better job than most of them. If you can get them to work at all they cause problems somewhere else as you have found out.
