Hi.

After reinstalling win 95, I can no longer hear any sound when Media Player is playing a midi file.

I have checked that the volume settings aren't muted and are turned high. Is there a way to configure the Media Player's audio?

Regards,
Gary.

Most likely it is a problem with the soundcard installation.  Go to the control panel, open "System", and click on the Device Manager tab.  Now find the "Sound, video and game control" device type, and click on the "+" to open the branch.  Check out the properties for each device under this heading - make sure there are no conflicts.

If everything seems ok here, and you have drivers for your soundcard on floppy or CD, try removing the drivers in the Device Manager, deleting them off of your hard drive, and rebooting the system.  Windows should (hopefully) detect new hardware, and allow you to install the drivers.

If you still have problems, please leave a comment with the name of your soundcard, type of computer, and pertinent information found in the Device Manager (& whatever else???).
