I am looking for a cgi script that implements login & password protection for some directories of a web server.
In fact the script you are using in this site to ask for user ID and password.
Is this available.
1) I do just want to protect directories
2) Our webmaster use Internet Information server with NT but he wants me to pay to implement protection and I think that some cgi's can handle it for free
Thanks for help!!!

Some more information would be helpful,
1) Do you just want to protect directories ,ie not to keep track of users, such as displaying their names on pages etc ?
2) What web server are you using ?? most servers include methods to restrict access.
