i am trying to check my e-mail at my college using my home computer...i enter my e-mail adress as "s-debr@wpmsgsvr.vjc.edu" i was told to also enter the adress of the mail server in the SMTP field...would the SMTP be the end of my e-mail adress above (wpmsgsvr.vjc.edu) or would it be soemthing else...i also typed in the SMTP field sun1.vjc.edu which i thought was supposed to be in the SMTP... when i try and connect to my college it says still connection came up half way...

also do i use the password from my college account or my home account?

The mail server address is probably

wpmsgsvr.vjc.edu

or (less likely)

mail.wpmsgsvr.vjc.edu

You should probably use your college password if you are using an .edu system (as you seem to be doing). I presume your home account is a private one with a non .edu server. If so, your password for that account will only work with it. Your password for Eudora and for any other access to your wpmsgsvr.vjc.edu account should be the same.

I think you have probably entered the correct mail server name but used the wrong password to access the account, but I am sure you can check both the mail server name and which password you should use by contacting the Computer Centre at your college.

[NOTE: VERY IMPORTANT! if you are using Internet Config, then leave the SMTP account line BLANK in your Eudora settings file. This may well be your problem.]
