mac screensaver

I need to create a mac.sys screensaver (I have nothing at this time to work with other than the image I need to place in the ss) I am having an extrememly difficult time finding a freeware/shareware program which will enable me to quickly solve my dilemma. I am not a programmer (a goal of the future), and am much more experienced with PC's, but I believe if there is a program which is relitively simple to use i.e. not to much programming capability required, I can get my project done. (I do have two programmers on staff who write C, C++, and VB--pretty smart people capable of understanding--with some effort--other languages.) I need an answer as quickly as possible and will be happy to answer questions concerning web development--my forte graphic related questions, and questions concerning New Media projects--once again forte graphics, but I am learning RAPIDLY great amount of technical information concerning all of the above.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Afterdark (AD) offers a software developers kit (SDK). You can get the AD machine for free, if you download Afterdark on-line. With the SDK you get a guideline and examples how to produce a code resource to be called from the AD machine as a screensaver. If you learn fast this shouldn't be a problem, it wasn't for me at least, but I do a lot of C programming in my job. The SDK also is for free (I beleive) I found it also on the Berkley server and I think on an earlier Metrowerks CD. If you can't download any of the stuff I can help you out with it.

I am not shure about the legal side, AD online is definitely free. I think the AD machine also is free, but you would certainly need a license if you distribute it with your modules. Please get information on that aspect by your own.

Hope this helps,

Peter
