Let Linux Picks Phone

I've two Linux machines. I want to setup one machine as PPP Server and another one is client.
My question is... how to let the modem on PPP Server picks up phone line automatically?

Within a terminal program:

ATS0=x
AT&W

Where x is the number of rings before answer.
