Bulmer,

You may want to try submitting your site to various search engines (Alta Vista, Yahoo, Web Crawler, etc.).  To do this you can go to www.yahoo.com and click on the Add URL button.  They also provide links to other places that you can register your web site.

To get your site be shown during searches, I suggest putting the following in your the <HEAD> part of your html...

<meta http-equiv="description" content="Your site description here">
<meta http-equiv="keywords" content="Put keywords here, each one separated by a comma">

So if you put 'shareware' as one of your keywords and somebody searched for that, your site should be shown.  Some search engines will also take the description and show it also.
