As you probably know by now that sendmail configuration is exteremely complex and there is a hundred ways of doing a
single thing. So, what I reccommend is that you download the
latest version of sendmail source. In the directory tree, you
will find a directory with sendmail.cf examples and a
macro utility that generates sendmail.cf files for you.
Use this to generate a cf file using the macro for "mail relay".
The utility will ask you questions about your setup. One of the
questions is if you want the outgoing mail rewritten to be from
a certain host - you answer yes and change that to domain1.com.
Send test messages and see if it doing what you want. I have
had to manually edit the sendmail.cf file to get exactly
what I wanted, but that part is easy. It is easy to figure
out the section where the headers are rewritten in the sendmail.cf file.

The utility I talked about above is well documented.
