Rnaapp hangs my system until I CTL-ALT-DEL and terminate it nearly every time I log off of the internet with my
ATT worldnet account. Is there any chance a fix for this is available?

I had the same problem, the fix is available at this site

http://www.microsoft.com/kb/articles/q148/7/65.htm

it is the dlc update and it will resolve multiple lockup problems in 16 and 32 bit programs, the article only tells some of the corrections this update will do.  There are currently about 20 articles at Microsoft each correcting a different problem using this same update.
After updating my system with this file I haven't had any lockups, and I was getting a lockup every time I logged off of the internet and several other programs locked me up also, this update has repaired them all.
