Recently installed 7.6. I use FreePPP because Apple stuff won't let you enter more than 25 characters. Worldnet has 26! I use them as backup provider. Neither allows me to store settings without changing TCP/IP. What is OT good for. I can't see it?

Is this a rhetorical question?  If you really don't know what OT is, go to www.apple.com and find out.

OT is Open Transport. It is the future of Apple's communication software. Further, OT runs native, which means much faster network connections on powerpc based computers. IT really helps speed up PPP. You wont see any single file that is called "Open Transport" but there are lots of small files in your system folder that have "Open Tpt" in their names. These are the "parts" of open transport. The old networking software is now called "Classic Networking" If you are using System 7.6, I dont think you have any choice in which networking you use. 7.6 uses only Open Transport.
