distributing a wav file.

This is much simpler to solve than my previous question regaurding the transfer of an audio cd into a wav format.

In my opinion .wav is probably fine, most people can play it. Netscape's .au format is probably the most widespread though.

I would definately cut down the quality, there's no way I'd spend more than a couple of minutes (MAX) to get a 30sec clip of a band I never heard of.

If this wave really is importang for you, then you should consider implementing realaudio! It delievers telephone quality live at a 28.8k connection!
