At our lab, there seems to be a problem that after people modify a Word document, they can't save changes. Sometimes they can't even save it under another filename on the same floppy disk. I heard this is a virus, and some say this is a setting problem, anyone knows how to solve this problem? Thanks!

This sounds very much like the infamous Word 6 template virus. You can read more information on it at

http://www.dgl.com/dglinfo/dg961118.html

and you can download a copy of a program to cure it (and other macro viruses) at

http://www.antivirus.com/

or from

http://coopext.cahe.wsu.edu/~support/

You should get rid of it as soon as you can, because it can end up doing some damage to your hard drive and its contents.

Sorry! Correction on download site: the ones mentioned previously were for Windows versions. The one you want is

 mvtool1222.hqx Macintosh version(81kb)

available from

http://www.microsoft.com/word/freestuff/mvtool/mw1222.hqx

Sorry for the mistake.
