I'd like to know if there's a there's any free/shareware component to get data stored in a TStringGrid and produce a formatted report to avoid dealing right with the printer.

Check the Delphi Super Page- Freeware Library for this component.

If they don't have it, it probably does not exist.
I am not sure exactly what type of formatting you are looking for and therefore can not answer the question any further.

If the component is not here, please send a comment explaining better what type of formatting you would like automated.

I'd like to find something similar to QuickReport but instead of connecting to datasource, i'd like to connect it to a StringGrid

I have created a printmanager routine
that prints a a string grid. To the Printer
all it needs is a full string grid and it does all
the printing for you in a report format. If you want it
I could add it o my web page.
