system files not updated

Originally my PC had a french version of W95 installed.
It was changed to an english version by the vendor before I bought it.
For various reasons I reformatted my HDD and reinstalled W95, thereby installing the system files as they existed on my HDD with sys.com.
I still have the dates appearing in French, and an incompatibility between the international settings I use and the date format I can select in MSOffice 97 applications.
Is it possible to run sys.com to extract and install the system files from my W95 CD-ROM ?

Yes, as you said yourself, by using a french system to format your  disk, you put the french version of the system files back....
