The DBMemo just displays a MEMO field from a DB... You can only navigate within the text of the field using the scrollbars.

I have got code from another source to remove them.
It's header is
                          dbgrid.disablescrollbars
I just don't know where to put this in my program or to actually edit the units source.  I also meant to navigate using the navigator component

To remove scroll bars from a DBMemo component (Not DBGrid?) just
change the value of ScrollBars within the component to 'ssNone'.
If you are talking about DBGrid please post more info.
